Are there issues with 1.7 ?

If anyone has issues with Mineshafter Squared and the 1.7 update let me know.  PM me on the forums or respond to this post.

  1. Not sure why, but some people's computers auto-update to 1.7 even if all they have downloaded is your proxy. Both my brother and I are prompted to whether or not we would like to update. We always click "Not Now" because we get a fatal error when updating (which is expected and unimportant). Any idea as to why some PCs auto-update?

  2. If you go into the actual game files of Minecraft and delete the bin folder (this is just the game not any of your saved data) and then start the game it will re-download the game and you will be fully up to date. I am working on a fix in the proxy that will do this automatically for you. But if you know what folder I am talking about then just go ahead and do that, otherwise don't start deleting folders in Minecraft or on your computer. We don't want anything bad to happen.

  3. Okay but is it okay to update to 1.7, because my brother runs the server and has his at 1.6 since his doesn't auto update and receives a fatal error when he tries and some people auto updated to 1.7 and can't log into his server because it's out of date. That's the point I was trying to get across.

  4. Yea that should be okay to do, I have not done it myself yet because I do not have access to my game server at the moment (Keep forgetting to set up that remote SSH for when Im not near it). But from what I have been hearing there should not be an issue in doing so. Just make sure to back up your server completely before you upgrade just to make sure.

  6. My brother has tried to run the new server, but when he tries to execute it, nothing shows up. Do you know what the problem might be?

  7. Okay scratch that last post, I got it working through a weird way (holding down the enter key), but the server he downloaded still says 1.6.6. I guess I'm a little confused with all the talk of 1.7 and my brother's server is still at 1.6.6. Is there something I'm missing when it comes to updating? Whenever anyone updates to 1.7 then tries to connect to his server, it says log in failed outdated server. Thanks again, Prinny.

  8. To run the 1.7 server all you need to do is download the new multiplayer server .jar file from minecraft.net. Or the latest recommended build from bukkit if you are using that. Then run the server normally using the proxy. You do not need to update the proxy for 1.7 multiplayer server, just the actual game server.
