The Official Game Server is 1.8 Vanilla

Okay for now I am going to run a vanilla (no bukkit or mods) server until bukkit is updated.  This map will be the new map, the old map will be back once I get multiverse to work with bukkit again.  So explore have fun and please DO NOT BUILD RIGHT NEXT TO THE SPAWN POINT.  It will most likely move once bukkit gets on there anyway.

The Official Game Server is still on 1.7.3

I am making note of this because I see a lot of people trying to connect to it with 1.8.1.  The game server uses Bukkit so I am waiting for a stable version before I update.  If you have updated your game to 1.8 or above, you will not be able to play on any 1.7.3 game server.  I will update the server to 1.8.1 as soon as I can so hold on.

All Fixed

Okay, it's all fixed now.  I will have an update to the Open Source Version later tonight.  So anyone who runs their own auth server stay tuned, everyone else go play and enjoy 1.8!

Okay Got It

I figured out what the issue was.  I just need some time to make the fix since I am in class right now / I need to test it to make sure it works.  But it will be fixed tonight!

Okay so another 1.8 update

I need to spend more time figuring out what changed.  This might take a while, possibly a few days.  I will post updates here as they develop.

1.8 Update

[PLEASE READ] Okay, so I am having some trouble with the 1.8 update and the service.  If you have already updated to 1.8 mineshafter will still work, just refuse the update then it asks.  If you do not have 1.8 yet, then you can log in to the normal game with a premium account to update the game then play on a non premium account on mineshafter squared.  If you do not have a premium account, then hang in there, I am working on this as fast as I can.

All of that said the service might be up and down as I get this fixed.

Service Disruption

I apologize for the short notice, but there is a chance I will have to take the entire service down for about an hour to roll out some new features and do some server maintenance.  There is also a chance that this will not need to happen.  I will post more details on this blog as it gets closer.  Stay tuned for details.

Skins and Capes Update

Okay the cape system is almost done.  I might get them done if I have time later on, I would love to get the update out before 1.8 which apparently drops tomorrow!  Stay tuned, things should get interesting very soon.

Public Skins and Capes!

Okay so the Public Skin System (with a slight redesign of the skin library) is all finished.  It has now entered the testing phase and should be out once I make sure it will hold up.  Now I am starting on the Cape system, which should be a copy of the skin system, just managing different images.  So hopefully it will be as simple as copy paste, and rewrite the queries.  If all goes according to plan this weekend could hold a very big, and good update to the site.

Another Update

Okay so Irene came and went, and the server is okay.  Now I am switching gears back into web development for the site.  I almost have public skins finished, and might start rolling out a small beta soon.  Its simple... but with enough complexity that I need to be sure it is all working properly.
